Job Summary:
As a Junior Buyer, you will play a key role in the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials and components required for boat manufacturing and refurbishing. Your primary responsibilities include managing purchase orders, data capture, and liaising with suppliers. Additionally, you will support supply chain activities, including import and export logistics, to contribute to an efficient and streamlined production process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Purchase Orders & Data Capture: Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all data is captured in the company's system
• Supplier Liaison: Communicate effectively with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm order details, and establish timelines
• Quote Management: Obtain and compare quotes from various suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and maintain a high-quality supply base
• Backorder Management: Follow up on outstanding orders, monitor delivery timelines, and resolve any issues to minimize production delays
• Credit Applications & Supplier Documentation: Complete credit applications and maintain up-to-date records of supplier agreements, contracts, and credit terms
• Supply Chain Support: Assist in managing supply chain logistics, including coordinating imports and exports and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and documentation requirements
• Inventory Monitoring: Support stock monitoring processes to ensure an uninterrupted supply of critical components and materials for production
• Administrative Support: Maintain organized records of all procurement transactions and assist with general administrative duties within the procurement department
Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industry
Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with ERP or procurement software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. (French will be a bonus)
• Basic understanding of import/export procedures and supply chain logistics
