Overview: Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to join our client’s team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate the management of large-scale marine infrastructure projects, specifically in port development and expansion. This includes dredging, reclamation, quay wall construction, terminal yards, and buildings.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Port, Coastal Engineering, or related fields
- Minimum 10 years of general working experience, including at least 5 years managing port construction projects
- Professional registration as a PrEng (advantageous)
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Project)
- Proven track record in successfully delivering port projects
- Fluent in English
Specific Professional Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in managing large marine infrastructure projects (above EUR 15m equivalent), with a preference for port development, maritime works (including dredging and reclamation), and transport logistic platforms (preferably in ports)
- Experience with FIDIC General Conditions of Contract
- Knowledge of port expansion projects, including dredging, reclamation, quay wall and apron construction, terminal yards, and buildings
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the management of various FIDIC construction contracts (note: not responsible for contract administration)
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, policies, and specifications throughout the project
- Manage project execution to meet performance standards and timelines
