Hire Resolve's client a leading luxury yacht manufacturer seeks a seasoned Composite Production Manager to oversee the production of composite parts for high-end sailing yachts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in boatbuilding, a strong background in composite materials, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of world-class yachts, blending Italian design with South African craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and select composite materials that align with performance, weight, and safety standards for yacht components.
- Oversee the manufacturing of composite parts, including hulls, decks, superstructures, and additional components.
- Ensure correct application of manufacturing techniques such as molding, lamination, and curing.
- Supervise and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and production staff.
- Facilitate training, task coordination, and scheduling to achieve operational goals.
- Ensure all composite components meet rigorous quality standards.
- Conduct inspections, identify defects, and address production issues effectively.
- Innovate and explore advancements in composite material applications.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve processes and capabilities.
- Drive process improvements to enhance production efficiency and minimize material waste.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime safety regulations and certifications for composite materials.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years in the boatbuilding industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- A 3-year degree or diploma in a relevant field.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Fluency in English.
