Job Summary
Our client, a leader in the cargo and logistics industry is seeking a highly experienced Estimator to join their team based in Johannesburg.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric
- Relevant Qualification or Diploma
- 5 Years in Estimate Processing
- Proficiency in Incoterms and Different Modes of Transport
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
- Attend to internal and external requests for rates and quotations.
- Ensure that estimates are submitted within the stipulated timelines
- Ensure accuracy with respect to all estimates submitted
- Ensure that all pricing submitted is competitive
- Ensure that pricing submitted is consistent with the scope of services requested
- Ensure that all risks are assessed when rate requests are received, and pricing submitted in accordance with the risks.
- Maintain & build on relationships with internal and external service providers
- Ensure that a minimum of 3 quotes are obtained from service providers where possible
- Ensure that the best possible combination of rates & service are obtained from service providers.
- Ensure that all rates & pricing is filed in a manner that allows ease of access when required
- Ensure that a comprehensive handover to operations takes place upon securing a shipment, including cost sheets and all buy rate Correspondence.
Skills
- High level of computer literacy in MS Office Suite and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Focus on customer requirements.
- Knowledge on Tenders / Projects / Out of Gauge Breakbulk cargo / Ro-Ro and Over Border requests will be advantageous.
