As the Import Release Clerk, you will administer all import release activities at a documentation level within a fast-paced clearing and forwarding environment. The role will also require framing customs entries as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all customs declaration types.
- Submit query documents to customs.
- Calculate Duty and VAT accurately.
- Prepare and process Voucher of Correction.
- Handle all types of customs stops and examinations, including NRCS and SAPS inspections.
- Process refunds, destructions, and claims.
- Manage Rebate Store operations and update the tariff book and explanatory notes.
- Exhibit flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.
Requirements (Experience and Qualifications):
- Matric essential.
- Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport, or a Customs Clearance Certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of import activities, legal and ethical requirements in the shipping, clearing, and forwarding industry.
- Extensive experience in Customs Clearing Part 1 & 2
