Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client is seeking a CNC Programmer. The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming, maintaining, and optimizing CNC machinery in the Joinery Department. The role involves ensuring that the department adheres to production standards, quality objectives, and continuous improvement practices. Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, the CNC Programmer will also manage staff, tools, and processes to support the company's manufacturing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Program all CNC machines in accordance with designs and cutting lists.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of the 3-Axis machine.
- Troubleshoot machine and programming errors.
- Implement and ensure adherence to manufacturing standards, operating procedures, and production processes.
- Maintain quality tracking programs to achieve objectives.
- Continuously optimize processes within the department.
- Monitor machinery for damages or faults and ensure regular maintenance.
- Maintain stock control of tools and equipment.
- Liaise with stakeholders to address quality and delivery concerns.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to team members.
- Manage operational changes in processes, environment, and resources.
- Ensure workstations are maintained to high housekeeping standards.
- Identify and mitigate potential health risks.
Requirements
- Minimum: NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Ideal: National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in CNC programming.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with woodwork CNC components and an interest in recreational boats (advantageous).
- Proficiency in ALPHACAM and MASTERCAM.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with SolidWorks (2013 or newer) and AutoCAD/Draftsight (2010 or newer) is advantageous.
- Strong ability to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
