Job Summary
An established and expanding UK/International Cloud-based Accountancy and Consultancy firm is seeking to employ a Senior Accountant. This is a remote position, with an office option in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The firm has offices in Cape Town and London.
As a Senior Accountant at this cloud-based accountancy firm, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional accounting services to their clients. You will work closely with the team, driving the business forward by delivering high-quality work, fostering client satisfaction, and upholding the company values. The ideal candidate must have a professional accounting qualification and proven experience in an accounting management role, preferably within a cloud-based accountancy firm. They are searching for ambitious, self-reliant and driven candidates with a solid track record in an accounting or assurance firm environment. Candidates with solid inventory systems, management and related inventory experience will be highly advantageous.
Training will be provided on systems, technical issues, sector and operational issues. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join an international business with clients across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial reporting, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement efficient cloud-based accounting solutions for clients, leveraging the latest technological advancements.
- Provide expert advice on accounting best practices, ensuring clients' financial processes are streamlined and optimized for efficiency.
- Assist and mentor junior team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented work environment.
- Engage in regular communication with clients to understand their needs, address inquiries, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Continuously monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and industry trends, communicate with relevant colleagues and assist in effective communication to team members and clients alike to ensure compliance.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service offerings and contribute to the firm's growth strategy.
Key Skills and Capabilities:
- Cloud Accounting Expertise: Proficient in at least one cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks Online, FreshBooks) and adept at leveraging technology to streamline accounting processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Capable of acquiring strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation practices in line with UK regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional accounting qualification such as or similar to CA(SA), PA(SA) or CIMA.
- Bachelor of Accounting degree or similar.
- Proven experience in an accounting management role, preferably within a cloud-based accountancy firm.
- Minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
- Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles.
Additional experience valued at a premium:
- Experience within a warehousing/distribution/logistics environment.
- Excellent knowledge of inventory management principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in ERP inventory management system, preferably cin7 or similar.

Remuneration:
- R300,000 to R520,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
