SEMI SKILLED BOILERMAKER – SA STEELWORKS
AIRPORT INDUSTRIA – CAPE TOWN
The Group has a position for a committed, hardworking and motivated Semi Skilled Boilermaker at our SA Steelworks Division in Cape Town. The successful applicant will report to the Boilershop Manager.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Housekeeping: Ensuring the cleanliness of all work stations and areas surrounding them
- Assisting the Manager / Supervisor with Ad hoc duties
- Assist with general work tasks and upkeep of structural machines
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and instructions and advise the responsible person whenever there are risks identified
- Check and Report on any deviations/faults that may occur
- Any other work tasks as operationally required
Abilities & technical competencies required:
- Attention to detail and an preventative approach to troubleshooting
- Good eye-hand co-ordination
- Good written, verbal and listening skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Good team player – able to balance team and individual responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret drawings from Engineers
- Ability to plan and coordinate tasks
- Oxy-Acetylene cutting experience (2 years)
- Hydraulic/pneumatic tool experience
- Welding experience
- Computer literacy
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
- Matric
- 3-5 years Boilershop work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Knowledge about Health & Safety Protocols
- Knowledgeable about all operational aspects of a plant, i.e.
- Good physical health.
- Own reliable transport
