Job Summary
A leading agro-processing and sugar milling company in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Foreman to oversee mechanical maintenance in the front-end processing section of its large-scale production facility. Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- National Trade Test or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in maintenance planning within a large-scale production facility
- Extensive experience in planned maintenance systems (Maximo experience advantageous)
- Strong leadership & problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a systematic and structured manner in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of sugar milling operations would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure high levels of plant availability and equipment capacity.
- Preventative & Reactive Maintenance: Implement planned maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and costs.
- Technical Excellence: Oversee mechanical systems, ensuring optimal efficiency, compliance, and safety.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage maintenance budgets and resource allocation effectively.
- Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to SHERQ, Food Safety, and engineering standards.
- Training & Development: Identify skills gaps within the team and oversee training programs
