About the End Client: The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) is a state-owned entity responsible for managing and maintaining South Africa's national road network. Established in 1998, SANRALs core focus is to enhance the country's road infrastructure, fostering economic development and ensuring safer, more efficient transport. SANRAL is at the forefront of integrating technology into traffic management, with its Data Centre in Midrand serving as a hub for the country's road infrastructure and traffic operations. Kapsch SA partners with SANRAL in supporting the management of national roads, providing vital data center operations and technical support. Role Requirements: Matric (High School Diploma) Completed or in-progress Tertiary IT qualification Minimum 2 years experience as a Support Engineer, with emphasis on Microsoft products Azure or Active Directory (AD) Fundamentals Certification AD Administrator Certification Networking Certification Advantageous Certifications & Experience: Microsoft M365 Fundamentals Certification Microsoft DevOps Certification AD/Azure Security Certification Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, scripting (Bash, PowerShell, or Perl), LDAP, SQL, KQL, and web services Knowledge of other cloud hosting solutions such as Google Cloud, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), etc. VMware Certification Experience with Azure Container solutions Key Responsibilities: Provide Active Directory (AD) and Microsoft Exchange support within the SANRAL Data Centre Administer and manage AD infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and security of directory services Collaborate on Azure integration and containerization projects Perform maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting for Microsoft AD and Exchange environments Support cross-platform systems (Windows, Linux/Unix) and automation using scripting languages Assist with process automation, standardization, and infrastructure security in line with best practices Ideal Candidate: Strong experience with Microsoft AD, Exchange, and Azure infrastructure Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting for automation Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in enterprise IT environments Collaborative and able to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary IT support team Strong understanding of IT infrastructure security and networking principles
