Job Summary
Purpose
Represent client in terms of all AUT / NDT activities on the project. Ensuring that all established process and procedures are adhered to by NDT third party contractor.
Functions
- Manage and accept AUT qualification testing of third party AUT personnel and equipment.
- Inspect all AUT equipment.
- Witness all offshore AUT activities on the pipelay vessel.
- Manage all offshore AUT activities.
- Review and accept AUT records, and any NC AUT reports.
- Ensure that AUT contractor properly maintains AUT systems.
- Ensure work is performed expeditiously and in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Reporting relevant data clearly and accurately and daily electronic backups are made.
- Client liaison.
- Ensure that Clients’ technical and administrative requirements are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
- Reporting to AUT Superintendent on current activities

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Other
Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities
- AUT Inspector reports directly to the AUT Superintendent
Qualifications
- PCN qualified in UT.
- CSWIP qualified in PA AUT.
- Previous experience, familiarity with Roto-scan AUT system preferred.
- Knowledge of AUT equipment calibration requirements.
- Competent at using equipment on automated systems.
- OPITO offshore survival or equivalent
- UKOOA offshore medical or equivalent
DESIRED
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Offshore AUT pipeline inspection.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- Fluent in communicating, reading, and writing English.
- Previous experience in oil & gas industry, track record of supporting the management of engineering / inspection projects.
- Familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures.
- Previous experience of coaching and mentoring.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office suits.
- Excellent customer service and client relations skills.
- Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within the work group.
Working Conditions
This position is considered OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows:
- Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.
- Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
- Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels.
- Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
- Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
- Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
