Job Summary
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead their maintenance team. The role involves overseeing plant and equipment maintenance, optimising efficiency, and minimising downtime, with a focus on coordinating tasks across refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and boiler making departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance team and manage workload distribution across various departments.
- Plan, implement, and ensure the timely completion of maintenance jobs and projects.
- Optimise plant and equipment efficiency, minimising downtime.
- Lead training and development initiatives for the maintenance team.
- Hire and manage contractors and teams for project execution.
- Provide clear, concise instructions to engineering teams and review work for technical accuracy.
- Collaborate with other managers and staff to align maintenance efforts with operational goals.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and HACCP standards.
- Manage job card distribution and completion for your team.
- Work flexible hours to ensure successful completion of breakdowns or projects.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules.
- Relevant training and certifications as a Maintenance Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Trade-tested Millwright.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration is preferred.
- N5 Diploma or equivalent.
- Wireman’s license advantageous.
- Leadership or management courses.
Desired Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years' supervisory experience.
- Experience in a poultry abattoir is preferred.
