Job Purpose
The incumbent holding this position would be responsible to:
- Develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of students, according to age, ability, and aptitude.
- Assess and record progress and prepare students for the next levels
Working hours
3 FULL DAYS: 7:00 - 17:30
2 HALF DAYS: 7:00 - 13:30
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and Continuous Provision:
Plan for effective teaching and learning which enables progress and prepareschildren for school and life whilst considering the Early Learning Goals as well as the needs of each unique child in theschool community.
Teaching to the curricular requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework:
Facilitating challengingand playful exploration opportunities rich in opportunities for active learning and thinking creatively and critically,across the areas of development and learning as assigned to the specialist teacher in the school’s rotation programmewhilst actively promoting a language-rich environment.
Respectful Caregiving and Discipline:
Nurturing self-regulation as a function of attuned relationships and responsiveexchanges supported by co-regulation strategies and the promotion of executive function skills. This extends to usingco-regulation strategies as fundamental to disciplining children. Ensuring continuity of care and nurturing a secureattachment to significant adults within reliable, warm, loving relationships and respectful caregiving.
Classroom Spaces:
Setting up and cultivating safe, enabling and inclusive classroom environments that offerstimulating resources and spaces, inside and outside, that are rich in learning opportunities and support children intaking explorative teacher-controlled risks.
Developmental Feedback and Collaboration With Parents:
Supporting and extending learning and developmentthrough a responsive pedagogy, scaffolding and continuous summative assessment; including collatingdevelopmental reports and keeping parents informed of their child’s daily educational experiences and overalldevelopmental progress. Collaborating and communicating with families, therapists, social service providers andcurriculum specialists is vital.
Community Engagement:
Plan and organise school events, outings, and activities, which may take place at weekendsor in the evening.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in a teaching field
Work Experience
1-2 years of relevant teaching or teaching assistant experience
