Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Delphi Developer to support and enhance a bespoke planning tool used within the mining sector, specifically supporting operations across various shafts in the mines. This tool, developed in Delphi, plays a critical role in daily operational planning for Impala Platinum.
You will work alongside both business and technical teams to understand, maintain, and improve this system. While prior experience in mining systems is not mandatory, the right candidate will be expected to receive domain knowledge from industry experts.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance the existing planning tool written in Delphi.
Collaborate closely with mining engineers and planners to understand business requirements.
Debug and resolve faults within the system, working with Suliman Bouskart to interpret technical issues.
Assist in transitioning tribal knowledge into documented processes and improvements.
Provide ongoing support to end users across various mining shafts.
Work within a team to ensure optimal functionality and uptime of the system.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in Delphi development.
Solid understanding of database integration (SQL / Firebird / InterBase).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and interpret legacy code.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with domain experts.
Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
Previous experience in the mining industry or industrial planning tools.
Exposure to legacy system modernization or migration projects.
Familiarity with tools or systems used in production or operations environments.
