Job Summary
The WAN, LAN and WiFi Infrastructure Support Services encompass comprehensive management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, performance, and security across all organizational locations.
Requirements:
- Completed N+
- Additional tertiary qualifications in IT would be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years working experience, specifically with network support
- Experience with long range wireless networks and infrastructure
Responsibilities include:
- Installation and configuration of wireless LAN infrastructure, including access points, controllers, and network segmentation for secure wireless access
- Use of network management tools to track traffic patterns, device health, and bandwidth utilization.
- Regular updates of firmware, configuration backups, and patch management to maintain the stability, security, and performance of networking devices.
- Analysis of wireless network performance, including signal strength, coverage area, and connection speed.
- Management of network incidents, including network outages, degraded performance, and slow WiFi connectivity, ensuring timely resolution based on Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Configuration and maintenance of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access control (NAC) to protect against internal and external threats.
- Upgrading or expanding WAN links, adding access points, and enhancing LAN infrastructure to support increased traffic or new applications (e.g., VoIP, video conferencing).
- Regular tuning of wireless channels, bandwidth allocation, and radio frequency (RF) management to improve overall WiFi performance.
