My client is a leading innovator in the Point of Sale (POS) industry, dedicated to creating seamless and efficient retail experiences. They are seeking a talented and creative Product Designer to their team in Westlake, Cape Town.

In this role you will conceptualize, visualize and create retail point of sale designs from concept to handover for a specific Client. You will use your strategic approach, sketching skills and CAD capabilities to translate a client brief into world class leading designs, pushing boundaries and redefining standards in the industry.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product design, preferably in the POS or retail technology sector.

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar.

• Strong portfolio showcasing your design process and previous work.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.

Key Duties:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop new POS products.

• Create detailed design specifications and prototypes.

• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.

• Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Work closely with engineers and manufacturers to bring designs to production.

• Continuously iterate on product designs based on user feedback and market trends.

• Maintain and update product design documentation.
