Job Summary
This list outlines the criteria we are looking for in a suitable candidate for the Part time Art Teacher position, focusing on the skills and experiences necessary to guide students in their artistic journey while preparing them for the demands of portfolio work and preparation for external examinations.
The vacant position is part-time, approximately 16 hours per week.
Six academic hours daily so the candidate can opt for two full days and four hours on a third day.
Criteria for Art Teacher Position
Position: Art Teacher for Grade 7 and Grade 8, External IGCSE Art and Design Examination (Grade 9 and 10), and Potential External AS Art and design Examination for (Grade 11 and 12)

Educational Qualifications (Ideally)
- Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field.
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) preferred.
- Cambridge experience in teaching IGCSE and AS Level Art and Design.
Teaching Experience (Ideally)
- Proven experience teaching Art to middle school students (Grade 7 and 8).
- Experience preparing students for external IGCSE Art and Design examinations (Grade 9 and 10) and AS Level Art and Design(Grade 11 and 12).
Curriculum Knowledge
- Understanding of the IGCSE and AS Level art and design curriculum and examination requirements.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and practical projects that align with curriculum standards.
Teaching Skills
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to express their creativity and develop their artistic skills.
- Proficiency in a range of artistic techniques and mediums.
Assessment Skills
- Experience with formative and summative assessment in art education.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to students and guide their artistic development.
