Requirements:
- Previous experience in the short-term insurance industry, specifically as a claims handler or negotiator for agricultural and commercial claims.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of systems such as Tial, Roc, System A is advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately gather and assess information from clients to make well-informed decisions regarding agricultural and commercial claims.
- Utilize appropriate tools (TIAL, supplier contacts, and negotiation) to correctly evaluate the cost of claims, ensuring decisions align with both business interests and customer fairness.
- Stay informed about the insurable aspects of agricultural and commercial goods, including sourcing the necessary information when required.
- Ensure timely finalization of claims, adhering to set parameters, including turnaround times and accurate application of terms and conditions.
- Provide consistent and clear feedback to customers and stakeholders as per company guidelines and customer needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as assessors, brokers, legal teams, and suppliers, to achieve job objectives.
- Take full responsibility for resolving claims, including communicating outcomes to ensure a high level of customer service and retention.
- Handle customer complaints with a focus on resolution and retention, using innovative thinking and sound judgment to address unique or challenging situations.
- Uphold the principles of Treating Customers Fairly in line with regulatory requirements, including the approval and payment of claims within your assigned mandate.
