Job Summary
A prominent group within the Cape Winelands is looking to employ an Accountant. This group has notable concerns within the Agri, Wine, Hospitality and Property sectors and is a recognized brand.
The purpose of this role will be to provide support to the Divisional Accountant and Senior Financial Manager and record and review financial transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy and timely submission of information used to support the business in their financial decision-making and ensure statutory compliance.
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of solid accounting experience in a similar role, with a degree, diploma or certificate in accounting, with completed articles or internship. Experience with ERP accounting systems and advanced Excel will be a benefit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Company financial information effectively and efficiently.
- Processing Cash Books and allocating income and expenses.
- Manage Online Banking transactions and reports.
- Reconciliation of accounts (Debtors, Creditors and Bank).
- Follow up on outstanding debtors.
- Assist with processing of creditors.
- Assisting with CAPEX, fixed assets and asset management.
- Posting monthly journals.
- Petty Cash and Credit Card management and reconciliation.
- Assist in Expense Analysis report.
- Assist with financial audits.
- Investigate financial discrepancies and irregularities.
- Data management and processing.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree, Diploma or certificate in accounting, bookkeeping or finance-related field.
- Accounting practical training completed.
- SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles a positive.
- 5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Experience of ERP Accounting systems (NAVision or BC365 an advantage)
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and Power BI and advantage.
- Excellent administrative and time management skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented with strong financial acumen and excellent time management skills.
