Job Summary
PBT Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Atlassian Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on delivering innovative, cutting-edge solutions in the financial services sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, optimising, and enhancing Atlassian tools to support a robust investment platform. Leveraging the latest global technologies, this role plays a key part in enabling digital transformation, enhancing efficiency, and delivering customer-centric solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Atlassian Tool Management:
- Oversee the administration, configuration, and optimisation of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Ensure the tools align with business processes, project needs, and organisational goals.
- Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and implement workflow automation using Atlassian tools.
- Develop and maintain integrations with other systems to streamline operations.
- System Maintenance & Upgrades:
- Manage regular updates, patches, and migrations to ensure tools remain secure, reliable, and up-to-date.
- Monitor performance and resolve any issues promptly.
- User Support & Training:
- Provide guidance and training to teams on best practices for using Atlassian tools.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving user-reported issues.
- Customisation & Development:
- Develop custom scripts, workflows, and plugins to extend Atlassian tool capabilities.
- Ensure solutions are scalable and adhere to organisational security standards.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations, workflows, and changes.
- Generate usage and performance reports for stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
- Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), including advanced administration and configuration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Groovy, or JavaScript for customisation.
- Experience integrating Atlassian tools with third-party applications.
- Ideally 5 years in roles within LISPs or investment platforms, Asset manager or a Financial Adviser business.

- Project & Workflow Management:
- Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps principles, with experience implementing workflows in Atlassian tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their integration into project management workflows.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions to optimise workflows and tool usage.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving system and user issues.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications in Atlassian tools or Agile practices are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing Atlassian environments.
