Job Summary
Development Manager required in Fourways to manage and prioritise IT Systems Development tasks through the effective deployment of resources and efficient workload allocation. Lead a team of system developers to drive innovation and ensure that Business IT Systems requirements are sufficiently developed and adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development.
- Develop innovative solutions by integrating and analysing complex and diverse information sources.
- Build and maintain relationships with business and IT stakeholders.
- Communicate the function's strategy and motivate the team.
- Develop tactical plans for optimising resources.
- Manage team performance, set objectives, and take corrective action.
- Conduct research using primary data sources and analyse key themes and trends.
- Evaluate staff capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritise development activities.
- Plan and manage project delivery using appropriate project management methodology.
- Develop existing applications and contribute to the development of new applications.
- Develop own capabilities through training and development.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, regulations, and best practices.
- Monitor performance and behaviours to ensure compliance.
- Implement and provide input on security measures.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology
- 6+ years of system development experience using GIT
- Previous experience in the Financial Insurance industry
- 3-6 years of experience in planning and managing resources
