Job Summary
Qualifications:- Matric Certificate with Maths and Accounting
- B Com Accounting / Finance Degree with Honours
- Postgraduate qualification in Tax will be advantageous
Requirements:
- Highly proficient in MS Office
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Minimum five (5) years’ working experience in Payroll Tax and or Accounting will be advantageous
- Must be prepared to pursue additional tertiary studies in Payroll and Tax
- Educos, E@syfile, SARS Efiling and JDE System experience advantageous
- Emotional resilience
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical skills
- Review all third-party payments and reconciliation to the general ledger allocation
- Prepare management reports for business units including provision reporting
- Prepare payroll journals
- Importing of weekly and monthly payroll interface
- Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts review and testing of provisions
- Ensure correct statutory deductions ensure correct GL allocation and reconciliation
- Ensure that benefits such as Provident Funds
- Pension Funds and Medical Funds are correctly reflected on payrolls and paid over and reconciled
- Ensure that all relevant documents and month end reports are filed according to relevant legislation
- Prepare data for and ensure accurate submissions for Employment Equity, ROE (WCA) and Stats SA reporting
- Advise Payroll Services team of income tax implications
- Assist and advise with complex PAYE and VAT issues
- Preparation, review and filing of EMP201’s and EMP501’s Preparation and filing of IRP5’s
- Complying with risk management procedures
