Job Summary
A well-established manufacturing company based in Heidelberg, Gauteng, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Manager with proven financial experience in a manufacturing industry, and with exposure to diverse financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, providing accurate and timely reporting to management
- Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support business planning and decision-making processes
- Import and Export compliance
- Asset Register
- Strong Forex experience and maintain banking relationships
- Monitor and manage cash flow, and banking relationships to optimize working capital and minimize financial risks
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax and statutory reporting requirements
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives, cost control measures, and profitability enhancement efforts
- Review and investigate any discrepancies around costing
- Operational variance analysis including labour, variable, fixed and material cost variances
- Assist operations to identify gaps and drive performance
- Monthly P&L’s and management reports
- Maintenance of BOM’s and costings
- Review and recommend opportunities to reduce expenditure and optimize efficiencies to improve profits
- Oversee the IT Function of the Company
Requirements - CA/CPA or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- A professional accounting qualification would be advantageous
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager or similar role within a manufacturing company
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles, standards, and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
- Proficiency in financial software, more specifically Syspro
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and manage a finance team
