Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our client’s Finance Team. The successful candidate will be accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company.
- Develop financial and operational strategies and the metrics to measure them.
- Continuously develop and monitor control systems to preserve company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure financial performance and statutory compliance to minimize business risk and maximize profitability.
- Direct and control the company’s financial, accounting, legal, and board secretarial activities.
- Provide financial services to all companies and divisions of the Sheraton Textiles Holdings Group.
- Supply relevant accounting, management, and statistical information to enhance decision-making and policy development.
- Manage the Finance Team, including procurement, to effectively complete all financial responsibilities.
- Ensure internal controls are effective and maintained.
- Manage asset control and accountability, including the Fixed Asset Register.
- Oversee the creditors and debtors functions, including managing doubtful debts.
- Manage foreign exchange and monthly management packs.
- Oversee insurance and risk minimization.
- Manage cash flow and working capital.
- Attend monthly and year-end stock takes.
- Handle product costing and bill of materials management.
- Manage taxation issues, including VAT, UIF, PAYE, SOL, WHT, and Income Tax.
- Implement finance policies and procedures, including IFRS.
- Sign off on payroll and have cheque signing authority.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts.
- Review and sign off on general ledger reconciliations.
- Oversee year-end audits and participate in board meetings.
- Handle company secretarial duties and BBBEE verification audit financial statements and documentation.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as directed by the CEO and/or the Board.
Requirements:
- CA qualification.
- 10 years of proven experience in a financial environment, with a focus on monitoring budgets, financial analysis, and highly analytical skills.
- Proven relevant experience as a Finance Manager.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Good business acumen.
- Knowledge of imports and foreign exchange rates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to monitor and evaluate supplier contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
