A company in Cape Town is looking for a ENGINEERING MANAGER.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical and Mechatronics).
- A proven track record of ten years in Product development and Project Management.
- 10 years of experience in automation and machine-building engineering roles
- 5+ years of experience in managing and leading people.
- Foster and empower a high-performing, collaborative engineering team to drive innovation and achieve strategic goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that enable them to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the business and work well as part of a team.
- A strong technical background with In-depth knowledge of automation tools, machine-building technologies, and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly for both technical and non-technical teams.
- Actively listen to understand, and provide timely, constructive feedback to empower your team.
- Exceptional planning and organising skills.
- Assertive to push back constructively and lead others to achieve successful outcomes for projects.
Key Deliverables for the role
To lead and build the engineering team to:
- Pursue the identification, testing and understanding of new technologies.
- Match well-understood technologies to opportunities identified within the business.
- Plan, execute and sustain the implementation of technology solutions within the business.
- Develop strategic technical partnerships with technology providers.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support other business functions on technical issues (e.g. Maintenance, NPD, CI, IT, etc).
- Negotiate project priorities & timelines to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Motivate and inspire the team to think outside the box, nurturing a culture of continuous innovation and creativity.
