Job Summary
A leading manufacturing company in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead maintenance strategies, plant optimization, and reliability initiatives at a high-performance production facility. This is a strategic leadership role, requiring technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Government Certificate of Competence (GCC ) - Factories
- Strong continuous improvement and asset management expertise
- Proven experience in budgeting, cost control, and CAPEX planning
- Proficiency in CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP, or equivalent)
- Strong leadership & team management skills, with a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
- 8+ years’ experience in manufacturing machinery maintenance within a high-volume production environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Drive plant availability, reliability, and efficiency through strategic maintenance initiatives
- Preventative & Predictive Maintenance: Oversee planned maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment longevity
- Budget & Cost Optimization: Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards
- Safety & Compliance: Implement and monitor SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) standards.
- Maintenance Execution: Lead maintenance teams, contractors, and external suppliers to ensure optimal plant performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing principles and process optimization to enhance operational efficiency
- Regulatory & Audit Compliance: Ensure GCC regulatory compliance and mitigate risks to maintain zero major or repeat audit findings
- Asset Management Systems: Utilize CMMS (Maximo, SAP, or similar) to enhance plant performance and reliability.
