Job Summary
A market leader in red meat production, processing, and export, is looking for a qualified Millwright to join their Maintenance Team in City Deep. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled artisan with expertise in mechanical & electrical repairs, factory equipment maintenance, and food processing environments.
Qualification and Experience
- Qualified Millwright or Electrician (Trade-Tested) – Essential
- National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering – Advantageous
- Experience & Technical Knowledge:
- 3+ years’ experience in the meat or food processing industry – Highly Preferred
- 3+ years in factory maintenance & repair (Mechanical & Electrical)
- Expertise in Pneumatics & Hydraulics
- PLC Fault Finding & Troubleshooting
- VSD & Inverter Maintenance
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance & Repairs – Conduct mechanical & electrical maintenance on all factory equipment.
- Preventative & Scheduled Maintenance – Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting & repairs.
- Fault Finding & Troubleshooting – Diagnose and fix PLC, VSD, and inverter faults.
- Pneumatics & Hydraulics – Maintain and repair air & hydraulic systems
- Cold Room Maintenance – Work in temperature-controlled areas (0°C to -25°C) when required.
- Spare Parts & Inventory Management – Monitor critical spare parts & report stock requirements.
- Safety & Compliance – Ensure adherence to OHS & food safety standards.
- Project Support – Assist in new installations, commissioning & factory upgrades.
