Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful execution of multiple equipment build projects, from initial customer engagement through to on-site commissioning and final handover. Reporting to the Project Manager, the incumbent will manage up to five concurrent equipment builds, ensuring quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery while maintaining close collaboration with customers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end project execution for up to five equipment builds simultaneously. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution. Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact project timelines or costs. Monitor project progress and report updates to the Project Manager and key stakeholders. Customer Engagement & Technical Support Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle. Gather and clarify customer requirements, ensuring equipment specifications align with expectations. Provide technical guidance to customers regarding equipment operation, features, and optimizations. Address customer concerns and ensure alignment between project execution and client needs. Manufacturing & Quality Control Oversight Work closely with the production team to ensure equipment builds meet design specifications. Conduct inspections and quality checks at key stages of the build process. Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality control procedures. On-Site Commissioning & Handover Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment at customer sites. Ensure proper integration of the equipment into the customer’s operations. Conduct training sessions for customer personnel on proper operation and maintenance. Oversee the formal handover process, ensuring all documentation and acceptance criteria are met. Documentation & Reporting Maintain detailed project documentation, including engineering reports, risk assessments, and change orders. Prepare and present project status reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all project-related compliance documentation is completed and archived properly. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of experience in project engineering, preferably in mining, construction, industrial, or heavy equipment manufacturing . Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in machinery. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project). Experience with on-site commissioning and technical troubleshooting. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to travel to customer sites for commissioning and support. Desirable: PMP (Project Management Professional). Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of ERP systems for project tracking and resource planning. Work Environment & Travel This role will be a combination of office-based project management and on-site supervision of field service activities. Travel to manufacturing facilities, client sites, and operational field locations will be required as part of the job.
