Job Summary
An industry-leading client of ours is looking for a Professional Quantity Surveyor.
Key Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying
- Registered as a Professional with the SACQSP
- Must be a South African citizen
- 10 years post-Pr QS registration experience
- Project management qualification or experience beneficial
- Analytical thinker with proven problem solving
- Ability to manage and prioritize complex tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Competency in mathematical and accounting principles
- Reports, feasibility studies and cost analyses of processes
- Should be able to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Excellent construction- and general project management skills
- Be able and willing to mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors
- Sound knowledge of the JBCC and other relevant building contracts
- Sound knowledge of CIDB standards
Responsibilities:
- Doing estimates
- Measuring Quantities from plans to compile BOQs
- Preparing tender documentation
- Preparing valuations
- Preparing variation orders
- Attending site meetings
- Contract administration
- Preparing Cost Reports
- Measuring and agreeing final accounts
- Project Management
- Quality Assurance
- Multi-disciplinary services co-ordination
- Team co-ordination
- Oversee projects as needed
- Liaising with clients and other stake holders
- Public facilities building experience. Preferably experience with Government projects and the South African tender process
