Resident Engineer - Geotechnical

Hire Resolve is actively seeking a skilled Resident Engineer specializing in Geotechnical Engineering for a reputable firm based in Durban to oversee the N3-1 Paradise Valley - Mariannhill Toll Plaza project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in geotechnical aspects of major road projects and will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of project objectives.
Contract Type: Fixed Term (3-5 years)
Responsibilities
- Oversee geotechnical engineering aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Conduct site inspections and manage geotechnical investigations, assessments, and analyses.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Review and approve geotechnical designs, reports, and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site personnel.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports on geotechnical performance and issues.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during all project phases.
- Manage geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies as necessary.
Requirements
- B.Sc Eng / B.Eng / B.Tech Eng qualification in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Registration as Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng with a recognized engineering council.
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant geotechnical experience, particularly in major road projects.
- Proven experience with SANRAL roads and regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
