Job Summary
SACPCMP Registration: Candidate CHSM, CHSM or Candidate CHSA registration Qualifications: Qualifications relevant to SACPCMP registration. Preferred diploma, bachelors degree, or higher qualification in Construction Health and Safety, Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a closely related field. Recognised engineering qualifications may also be considered if they include safety-related courses. Advanced courses in CHS management, incident investigation, risk assessment, auditing, or compliance management. Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in the construction health and safety field. Proven experience in managing CHS on complex construction projects, such as high-risk or large-scale projects. Skills: Fluent in English and Afrikaans Proficiency in Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and Regulations Knowledge of contract administration Familiarity with legislation such as the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Disease Act, and Environment Conservation Act Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, communication, and report-writing skills to coordinate with various stakeholders on CHS matters. Administrative proficiency with the MS Office Package (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint) Experience in occupational health, safety, and environmental management, including incident investigation and auditing. Ability to train / coach individuals effectively in health and safety. Physical fitness to navigate construction sites and work at heights. Adaptability to work outdoor in inclement weather conditions Capability to thrive under pressure and overcome challenges. Self-motivated, team player, and effective time management. Duties: The candidate will work under the direct supervision and control of a Pr. CHSA, executing CHS Agent duties.
