Job Summary
Hire Resolve is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable construction firm based in Cape Town. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to make a significant impact in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Manage and monitor project budgets to ensure financial efficiency
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide accurate financial data
- Analyze tenders and contracts, advising on potential risks and opportunities
- Oversee the final account processes, including cost reconciliation
- Ensure compliance with the clients' and industry standards
- Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders
- Negotiate contracts and variations with subcontractors and suppliers
- Assist in the procurement process and develop effective procurement strategies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the construction sector
- Experience in the Building industry (Civil is not required)
- Strong knowledge of JBCC, FIDIC, and NEC contracts
- Experience working on Government projects
- Proficiency in cost estimation software such as WinQS and CCS Candy
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
