Job Summary
The ideal candidate will oversee all refrigeration projects, initiatives, and processes, ensuring compliance with established company policies. Key responsibilities include managing the installation, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration equipment, optimising cost savings, facilitating HR functions, and maintaining safety standards. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in refrigeration management in an FMCG environment, with strong knowledge of the OHS Act, ammonia and MHI legislation, and general machinery regulations.
The ideal candidate should possess a Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent qualification, along with a Refrigeration Diploma and Ammonia Safe Handling certification, which are essential for this role. While a qualification as a Fitter or Millwright would be advantageous, it is not mandatory. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills, is required. Additionally, the candidate must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transport to fulfil the responsibilities of the position effectively.
The successful candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, people management skills, excellent planning and reporting abilities, and a proactive approach to minimizing downtime and maximising operational efficiency.
