Job Summary: The Preparator (Truck Body) is responsible for meticulously preparing and ensuring the structural and aesthetic integrity of truck bodies. This role involves the preparation of surfaces, assembly of components, and adherence to quality standards to deliver a final product that meets our company's specifications and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation:
- Prepare truck body surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, or applying appropriate treatments to ensure proper adhesion of paints, coatings, or other finishes.

Component Assembly:
- Assemble various components of the truck body, including panels, doors, locks, and other fixtures, ensuring proper alignment and fit according to design specifications.

Rust and Corrosion Prevention:
- Apply rust inhibitors, primers, and anti-corrosion coatings to prevent deterioration and enhance the longevity of the truck body.

Quality Control:
- Conduct inspections at various stages of preparation to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and safety guidelines.

Material Handling:
- Handle and store materials required for truck body preparation in a safe and organized manner, minimizing waste and optimizing resources.

Tool Maintenance:
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.

Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals and materials.

- Maintain accurate records of all tasks performed, materials used, and inspections conducted during the preparation process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in truck body preparation, or a related field, preferred.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, coatings, and rust prevention methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical stamina and the ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
